100+ Points, Ranked by What They Cost You
Ten systems, ten or more checks each. Ranked from the risk that costs you the most to the one that costs you the least.
-
01
Engine + Live Data Scan
10+ checks. A damaged engine can mean thousands in repairs, sometimes more than the car is worth.
Checks include: cold start behavior, idle quality and vibration, live data and freeze frames, stored and pending fault codes, oil level and condition, oil cap and coolant residue (head gasket signs), belts and hoses, ignition wear signs, engine mounts, abnormal noises.
-
02
Transmission
10+ checks. Failures build quietly. Replacing a transmission can cost nearly what the used truck did.
Checks include: fluid level, color and smell, shift quality up and down, delayed engagement, slipping under load, torque converter behavior, transfer case operation (4x4), mounts, pan and seal leaks, cooler lines, clutch wear on manuals.
-
03
Frame & Body
10+ checks. Crash damage hides under fresh paint. A rebuilt frame is unsafe and kills resale value.
Checks include: frame rails and crossmembers, structural rust versus surface rust, weld and repair evidence, panel gaps and alignment, overspray and repaint signs, prior collision repair, underbody damage, door and hood operation, glass condition, VIN plate consistency.
-
04
Brakes
10+ checks. This is the one system with zero room for error.
Checks include: pedal feel and pressure hold, pad thickness, rotor condition and thickness, brake lines and hoses for corrosion or leaks, master cylinder, calipers and wheel cylinders, parking brake, ABS codes and operation, fluid condition, straight-line braking on the road test.
-
05
Suspension
10+ checks. Unsafe handling that gets worse fast once it starts.
Checks include: shocks and struts for leaks and rebound, bushings, ball joint play, tie rods and steering linkage, control arms, wheel bearings, springs for sag or cracks, alignment symptoms like pulling or uneven tire wear, power steering, clunks over bumps.
-
06
Differential (if 4x4/AWD)
10+ checks. A common, expensive repair on used trucks and AWD vehicles.
Checks include: fluid condition, seal leaks, bearing noise, driveline play, U-joints and CV joints with boots, transfer case engagement, 4x4 mode operation, axle seals, vibration at speed, binding on tight turns.
-
07
Fluids & Leaks
10+ checks. A small leak today is a blown engine tomorrow, if it's ignored.
Checks include: engine oil, coolant level and condition, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, differential and transfer case fluid, active leaks under the vehicle, residue trails on components, milky oil or coolant mixing signs, washer fluid.
-
08
Tires
10+ checks. Visible at a glance, but it changes how the vehicle brakes.
Checks include: tread depth on all four corners, uneven wear patterns, tire age from the DOT date, matching sizes and brands, sidewall cracking or damage, inflation pressure, spare condition, TPMS status, wheel damage, lug condition.
-
09
Road Test
10+ checks. Confirms everything above actually works in real driving conditions.
Checks include: cold start, acceleration and power delivery, straight-line braking, steering response and centering, shift behavior at speed, wind and driveline noise, highway stability, HVAC operation, dash warning lights, idle after full warm-up.

FAQ
What do you inspect during a pre-purchase car inspection?
We run a full dealer-level scan with an Autel diagnostic tool to pull live data and stored fault codes, then physically inspect the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and frame for damage or wear a visual walk-around would miss. We also check tires, fluids, and leaks, and do a road test when the seller allows it. Everything is organized into 10 systems with 100+ individual checks, ranked from the risk that costs you the most (engine, transmission, frame, brakes) to routine verification (tires, road test). You get a photo-rich report the same day, before you decide.
Do I have to bring the car to you, or do you come to me?
We come to you. That is the whole point of a mobile pre-purchase inspection: you never tow or drive an unknown vehicle anywhere before it has been checked. We meet you at the seller's driveway, the dealer lot, or wherever the car currently is, anywhere in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Vernon, Lake Country, Peachland, or Penticton. Most competing inspection services still expect you to bring the vehicle to a shop; we built this service specifically so you never have to.
How much can I lose if I skip a pre-purchase inspection?
A hidden engine or transmission problem on a used vehicle can run $3,000 to $10,000 or more to fix once you already own the car, since major mechanical failures are exactly what a seller's clean CarFax and visual walk-around won't show you. A pre-purchase inspection is often less than 1% of the car's price and takes about an hour, before you own the problem. We've caught pending fault codes a dealer cleared before a sale, worn brake rotors below spec, and suspension damage that a "certified pre-owned" sticker didn't disclose.
How fast can you schedule an inspection?
Same-day is often possible in Kelowna and the surrounding Okanagan Valley. Call or text +1-250-859-5467 with the vehicle's location and we'll confirm the soonest available slot. Because we're mobile, there's no shop queue to wait behind — the inspection happens wherever the car already is, which is usually the biggest time saver compared to booking a shop-based inspection days out.
What's included in the report I get?
Your report is delivered on-site, right after the inspection is finished, not emailed days later. It includes real-time photos taken during the inspection, a repair suggestion and estimated cost for every finding, and green/amber/red risk ratings so you can see at a glance what's urgent versus what's routine maintenance. If you ask for it, we also add a negotiation-ready summary you can hand directly to the seller or dealer to request repairs or a price adjustment before you close.
Do you inspect vehicles at a dealer lot, or only private sellers?
Both. We regularly meet clients at dealer lots across Kelowna as well as private seller driveways, workplaces, and storage lots. A "certified pre-owned" badge or a dealer's own inspection sticker does not replace an independent, dealer-level scan — dealers have an incentive to sell the car, we don't. We've found pending fault codes a dealer cleared before a sale, so an independent inspection matters just as much, if not more, when buying from a dealer.
